Peguis Development Corporation is Offering Safety Services & Training

*These courses include written and practical skill assessments to validate training competencies*

All Peguis Band members are considered a priority.

Applicants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.

First Aid (Emergency) Level I/AED

TOTAL HOURS: 8 hours – 8am – 4pm
LEVEL: Intermediate
CLASS SIZE: 16 maximum
-This course is designed not only for employees, but it is applicable for anyone to be prepared for emergencies in the workplace and at home. This course benefits everyone by ensuring they are prepared if an emergency occurs.
-The hands-on practice allows individuals to develop the confidence to attend to emergency situations.
* Students missing any parts of this course may be required to provide a “make-up” or course “re-do”, subject to Instructor discretion.

AERIAL WORK PLATFORMS

Course Location: SSM and on-site
Class Size: 12 maximum
Course Duration: 8 hours (8 am – 8pm) – Classroom and Practical
-Safety Services Manitoba’s aerial work platform training provides students with the most current legislative information including the CAN/CSA-B354.4-02 (R2013).

CONFINED SPACE

Course Location: SSM and on-site
Class Size: 16 maximum
Course Duration: 2 day (16 hours) – Classroom and Practical
-The 16 hour Confined Space will allow the Entrant, Attendant, or Supervisor to safely and confidently understand and evaluate the hazards and procedures associated with confined spaces.
-In addition to confined space entry procedures and hazards, this course will discuss the need for appropriate personal protective equipment and the selection characteristics and pre-entrance testing for each level of protection.

FALL PROTECTION

Course Location: SSM and on-site
Class Size: 16 maximum
Course Duration: 1 day (8 hours) – Classroom and Practical
-This program teaches participants how to exercise the hierarchy of controls including fall prevention, fall restraint, and fall arrest as each situation will be different when working at heights.
-Students will learn how to inspect fall protection equipment, how to don a harness, and have the opportunity to experience what it feels like to hang in a harness.

FLAGPERSON CERTIFICATION

Course Location: SSM and on-site
Class Size: 16 maximum
Course Duration: 6-8 hours – Classroom and Practical
-This course is structured for anyone involved in traffic management.
-This certification course is designed for workers with no previous experience as a flag person and will enable employers to meet their legislative responsibilities under the Workplace Safety & Health Regulations.

SAFE LIFT TRUCK OPERATOR

Course Location: SSM and on-site
Class Size: 12 maximum
Course Duration: 1 day (8 hours) – Classroom and Practical
-Safety Services Manitoba’s forklift training provides students with the most current legislative information including the new CSA-B335-15 standard changes.

SKID STEER LOADER

Course Location: SSM and on-site
Class Size: 12 maximum
Course Duration: 1 day (8 hours) – Classroom and Practical
-Skid Steer Loaders fall under part 22 of the Manitoba Safety Regulations and have similar hazards as operating a forklift; therefore, training skid steer operators correctly is an essential component to any company who require the use of a skid steer loader.
-Safety Services Manitoba’s Skid Steer Loader training provides students with the most current legislative and industry best practice information regarding powered mobile equipment.
